Certificate II in Graphic Design

If yes, this course aims to give you the basic theory and practical knowledge needed for your development in graphic design. You will learn about and use the Design Process, Principles and Elements of Design, Typography and Colour Theory in order to develop designs in Corporate Identity, Editorial Layout, Digital Illustration, etc.

Entry Requirements
    A student is seventeen (17) years and over and have

  • Completed YTEPP Graphic Design Level I or
  • Have relevant work experience within the industry
  • Have a portfolio showing evidence of design

Additional Requirements
You should have a common knowledge or an understanding of basic techniques and concepts gained in a classroom and/or experimental scenarios or as a trainee on-the-job.

Progression

The Foundation in Graphic Design is an ideal route for students who are looking to further their education onto a Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or another design related subject. The programme also prepares students for a junior position in the creative industry.

Course Outline

During a cycle, students will be expected to successfully complete eight (8) design projects covering seventeen (40) mandatory modules using hands-on exercises, tutorials and creative software.
